De Haagse teams doen het heel goed in St. Louis. Lords of the Screws zijn 5e geworden met de FTC! Een topprestatie gezien de grote concurrentie en het enorme aantal teams (2200)

Wattt’s up! van het Maerlant Lyceum heeft bij de FLL de ontwerpprijs gewonnen!

De inschrijving voor de FLL-Haaglanden is nog geen twee weken aan de gang en we hebben nu al 19 aanmeldingen! Zoals jullie weten zijn er in Haaglanden 40 plaatsen beschikbaar voor de wedstrijd op zaterdag 2 december dus wacht niet te lang met het inschrijven van je team! Het thema van de FLL 2012/2013 is ‘Senior Solutions – Onafhankelijk. Betrokken. Actief’

Kunnen FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL®) teams de kwaliteit van leven van ouderen verbeteren door hen te helpen om onafhankelijk, betrokken en actief in de gemeenschap te blijven? In de 2012 Senior Solutions^™ Challenge zullen meer dan 200.000 jongeren, van 9 tot 15 jaar uit meer dan 60 landen, onderzoek doen naar ouder worden en hoe dit iemands vermogen beïnvloed om zijn of haar levensstijl te behouden. De deelnemers kijken bijvoorbeeld naar mobiliteit, communicatiemiddelen en manieren om fit te blijven. De teams doen onderzoek naar obstakels en komen met oplossingen om de kwaliteit van het leven van ouderen te verbeteren. De teams zullen ook een autonome robot bouwen, testen en programmeren om een set van missies op te lossen, gebruikmakend van LEGO MINDSTORMS®. Gedurende het hele project zullen de teams werken volgens de Core Values van de FLL.

De inschrijving voor de FLL verloopt via de nationale organisatie Stichting Techniekpromotie. Op deze site kun je je inschrijven en aangeven dat je deel wilt nemen in regio Haaglanden. De FIRST LEGO League Haaglanden maakt deel uit van het Haags Technologie Festival en vindt plaats op zaterdag 1 december 2012 in de Haagse Hogeschool in den Haag.

‘Super Seniors’ Het nieuwe thema Junior FLL

Dit jaar heeft de Jr. FLL als thema ‘Super Seniors’. De vraag hierbij is: “Hoe kun je het leven van ouderen verbeteren?”. Hier ga je met je team als echte onderzoekers over nadenken. Op een zelf gemaakte “LAAT ZIEN” poster showen de kinderen hoe zij het onderzoek hebben aangepakt. Tekst, tekeningen en foto’s, het mag allemaal! Uiteraard mag je hierbij ook gebruik maken van potloden, stiften, verf, houtskool etc. De poster mag maximaal 90 x 120 cm groot zijn en moet zelfstandig kunnen staan.

“Can FIRST® LEGO® League teams improve the quality of life for seniors by helping them continue to be independent, engaged, and connected in their communities? In the 2012 SENIOR SOLUTIONS^SM Challenge, over 200,000 children ages 9 to16* from more than 60 countries will explore the topic of aging and how it may affect a person’s ability to maintain his or her lifestyle – solving issues like getting around, keeping in touch, or staying fit. Teams will research obstacles and then suggest ways to improve the quality of life for the seniors affected. Teams will also build, test, and program an autonomous robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS® robot to solve a set of missions on an obstacle course. “

Wij doen mee aan de First Tech Challenge (FTC), een uitdagend, internationale wedstrijd, waarbij wij een robot moeten ontwerpen, bouwen en programmeren. Elk jaar is de opdracht verschillend. Dit jaar heet de opdracht “Bowled Over!”.
